Year 3

 Week beginning 15th July

How are we in our last week of Year 3? Time has flown this year and we are so proud of all the progress the children have made.

Miss Lunn and I would like to take this moment to thank all parents for your support this year. We have had an amazing time and will miss all the children very much.

Please may we ask that you send your child in with a plastic carrier bag this week so that we can send their books home. Some books will be following the children up, so do not be worried if you do not have them all.

Worship Theme: Changing Seasons

Ecclesiastes 3.1–8

For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.

A time to be born and a time to die.

A time to plant and a time to harvest.

A time to kill and a time to heal.

A time to tear down and a time to build up.

A time to cry and a time to laugh.

A time to grieve and a time to dance.

A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.

A time to embrace and a time to turn away.

A time to search and a time to quit searching.

A time to keep and a time to throw away.

A time to tear and a time to mend.

A time to be quiet and a time to speak.

A time to love and a time to hate.

A time for war and a time for peace.

Hebrews 13:8   Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Matthew 19:26 “with God all things are possible.”

Homework:

Please note that this term's project homework is at the bottom of the page and letters will be sent home this week too, regarding this.

The children received their homework last week. Please choose at least two tasks to complete over the course of our project. The children are welcome to complete more if they wish. We look forward to seeing what they produce in our homework museum on the Monday 15th July 2024

Remember, MyMaths tasks will be set each week as identified in the weekly web update.  Please ensure that you do the tasks set for the week.  Remember, you also have access to Timetables Rockstars, too. We would like for the children to practice a soundcheck each time they use TTRS as a way of imitating the Y4 timetable test which they will do next year. They can also practice garage which is controlled by your child teacher who can give them access to the timetables they are personally working on.

We also encourage children to practice our weekly spellings at home as well as the Y3/4 common exception words.

Reading:

We would love to see Year 3 using their extra time at home to read some brilliant books. If children read three times at home, they get a raffle ticket. Please therefore keep a quick record in reading logs – your children can write the title in to help! We would also like to encourage children to bring their reading records into school everyday.

Coming up:

  • Friday 19th July - Break up for Summer holidays (13:20pm)

Many thanks for all of your support,

Miss Finnigan and Miss Lunn

TTRS should be the main way the children use to practice their timetables. Children should still be completing 3 soundchecks and 2 garage bands a week.

However, if they would like a change or to focus on particular tables, they can use hit the button.
