Year 5 - Back to the Stone Age!

Stone Age project

Over the last couple of weeks, the children have enjoyed getting stuck into our new topic 'Stone Age to Iron Age'.

To immerse ourselves in the topic, we started by looking at Stone-Age cave art which has been found all around the world. We learnt that historians believe that Stone Age hunter-gatherers would create cave paintings as a means of communication or to warn others of potential threats. After finding out more, we had a go at creating our very own cave art using 'earth colours' and chalk. Itching to find out more, the children created excellent posters detailing daily life during Neolithic Britain.
