Harvest Carnival
On Thursday 3rd October, we celebrated Harvest Carnival and we came to school dressed as fruits and vegetables. All the children had wonderful costumes and was lovely to see the array of different fruits and vegetables!
We were off timetable for the day, so that we could do some activities relating to Harvest. We read the book 'If the World were a Village' to understand differences within our world and understand different cultures too. From this we had a very exciting activity: food tasting! It is safe to say that lots of food was consumed and even Mr Brown, Bishop Geoff and Reverend Rachel enjoyed a prawn cracker!
Later on in the day, we did some learning about Fair Trade to understand where our food comes from and how many miles is travelled!
We also did some autumn wreath making which involved a variety of different natural resources: leaves, twigs, pine cones and even a few snails!
